Support & F.A.Q.

F.A.Q.

What’s the hardware and OS requirement of Lens Blur?

Lens Blur virtually runs on any Intel Mac.

Since bokeh is not just any blur, rendering the realistic optical effect is a far more computationally intensive operation than the “standard” Gaussian blur. Thanks to the latest OSX technology, Lens Blur is able to take full advantage of any Mac and simulate a lens effect in a reasonable amount of time. However, to export full-size RAW photos within a few seconds, the latest Mac models are recommended.

Lens Blur supports Mavericks since the first release. The current version supports Mac OS X 10.7 - 10.9.

Can I get a promo code?

When we publish a new version, we usually release a few promo codes to the community in order to receive feedback. If you are a designer or photographer and willing to help test our app and provide suggestions, please contact Richard at richard@nexushubs.com .

Troubleshooting Mac App Store Downloads

Every once in a while we hear a report about certain error messages when downloading our apps via the Mac App Store. Such error messages include “LensBlur.app is damaged and can’t be opened. Delete LensBlur.app and download it again from the App Store” or “This application can’t be verified.”

Mac App Store purchases and downloads are controlled exclusively by Apple, but here are some workarounds we’ve found that can help during these circumstances.

Re-login and reinstall the app

Delete the app from your Mac via the Launchpad app. Oftentimes the Mac App Store prefers if you delete the app via Launchpad, so within the Launchpad, click and hold the app icon, then press the black “X” icon.

Log out of the Mac App Store (from the Menu Bar, Store > Sign Out).

Reboot your Mac.

Log back in to the App Store (Store > Sign In), then switch to the Purchases tab and click the Install button next to the app name to reinstall. Clicking this link will take you directly to the Purchases tab.

If you’re still encountering difficulty downloading from the Mac App Store, Apple’s support channel will have the most insight into their systems so it may be worth contacting them directly.

Restore changes by a cleaner app

Do you have any applications installed that would be modifying app bundles? Some examples are CleanMyMac, MacKeeper, Monolingual, and XSlimmer. However, there are others. They generally try to strip out “unused” parts of an app bundle like languages or architectures. If that is the case, you will need to make sure they are not deleting parts of the LensBlur app bundle. If they already have made any change, do a restoration from backup.

Change security setting

This error message may be caused by changes to the Security & Privacy settings inside of the operating system.

This should not be your first option, but in order to resolve this issue, you might consider giving it a try:

Click on the Apple Menu -> System Preferences -> Security & Privacy. On the General tab, click the lock icon in the bottom left to allow for changes. You will be prompted for your password.

Finally, set it to “Allow apps downloaded from: Anywhere”

For detailed instruction of the above steps, check out this article.

You should now be able to open LensBlur properly on your machine.
